The seeds that fall from the bird feeders make great pickings for other garden creatures. During the exceptional cold spell called “the Beast from the East”, I spotted this Wood Mouse cashing in on his luck of a good feed. As the ground was covered in snow the Wood Mouse clearly stood out against the stark background allowing me to get a fantastic glimpse of him whilst he was grabbing as much seed as he could. The name for this painting came into my head straightaway!
